Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question about the Policy Priorities, or how the Business Africa works then take a look at the frequently asked questions that we have prepared to try answer your inquiries.

BUSINESSAfrica is led by an Executive Council. The Executive Council consists of twelve members appointed by the General Assembly for a period of two years: the President, the first and second Vice-Presidents, the Secretary-General, the Deputy Secretary-General, the Treasurer, the Deputy Treasurer and five members; representing 5 regions of Africa, Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, Central Africa, Western Africa, and Northern Africa.

We welcome eligible organizations to partner with us. If you would like your organization to partner with us, kindly write to the Secretary General of BUSINESS Africa requesting for partnership with BUSINESSAfrica.

We represent employers in global, continental, and regional policy forums and institutions including at the African Union Commission, United Nations, Sub-Regional Economic Communities, European Union, International Labour Organization, International Organization of Employers amongst others.
Our objective is to be the effective voice of business in Africa!

The most representative national employers’ organization within each African country.

Application for membership is made through/ the Secretary General by filling this form .

Currently members are required to pay USD1000 annually.
 

One renews their membership automatically by paying the annual subscription fees.

One ceases to be a member:
a) Where in the opinion of the General Assembly a member ceases to qualify for membership of BUSINESS Africa such membership may, on a resolution by the General Assembly, be terminated.

b) When a member which has failed to pay their subscription for two financial years and after demand by registered notice, shall lose their voting rights and shall pay all outstanding subscriptions to BUSINESS Africa.

c) When a member wishing to withdraw from BUSINESS Africa shall advise the Secretary-General so in writing and shall pay all payments due to BUSINESS Africa up to the expiry of the date of its effective withdrawal, which shall be at the end of the financial year and not less than six months after notice of withdrawal is given.
