Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, EBS, Secretary General of BUSINESSAfrica, and President of the International Organization for Employers was present at the Fifth Ordinary Session of the Specialized Technical Committee on Social Development, Labour, and Employment (STC-SDLE-5).

Together with Ms Mugo was Mr. Stepen Obiro, Head of Advocacy, Consulting and Partnerships. The event, themed “Social Agenda 2063: Promoting Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) Ecosystems,” took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with the Experts Meeting running from 29-31 July 2024 and the Ministers Meeting from 01-02 August 2024.

The STC-SDLE-5 aims to evaluate and endorse strategies and policies to promote social development, labour, and employment across Africa. The committee will review roadmaps for implementing policies in social protection, social and solidarity economy, labour migration, youth employment, and more.
